Winter is a prime time for mould to make a nuisance of itself, with removal being costly and often using harsh chemicals.

However, one cleaning-savvy mother, from Melbourne, has shared her three ingredient natural cleaning hack to ban mould for good.

Mould, which can wreak havoc with your health, is more often than not caused by condensation, which if not treated immediately can easily spread.

Mother-of-two has shared her three-ingredient cleaning product on TikTok. Chantel Mila, from Melbourne showed her 1m followers how to remove mould

TikTok cleaning expert Chantel Mila, posted her clever hack on TikTok for her 1 million followers.

The mother-of-two shared on her account @mama_mila_ a homemade formula, which promises to banish mould and prevent it coming back.

Chantel said that all you need is three ingredients, one cup of white vinegar, 20 drops of clove oil, and 20 drops of tea tree oil.

The content creator claimed that the acidity in the vinegar will banish mould spores, while the clove oil has anti-fungal properties and the tea tree oil prevents the mould returning.

You simply need to mix the ingredients together and add the mixture to a spray bottle before spritzing the infested area and leaving for 20 minutes.

Chantel demonstrates the mixture’s fantastic results by spraying it on her bathroom tiles, before scrubbing the area with a brush to reveal spotless results.

Many of her followers were grateful for the mould-blasting tip that doesn’t use bleach.

While another added: ‘Better than alternatives.’

A third said: ‘Def trying this!.’

And a fourth commented: ‘This is so helpful!!!’

The cleaning wiz answered some questions such as if you can use it on other walls outside of the bathroom, which she said you can.

Many of her followers were grateful for the mould-blasting tip that doesn’t use bleach and many of them had more questions such as if it you can use it on any wall

Another TikToker was wondering if you can use something else instead of clove oil, which has traditionally been used to ease digestive issues and pain.

Chantel replied: ‘Tea tree oil and peppermint oil are also antifungals.’

Keep in mind that if you have mould or damp, it’s important to find out why you have excess moisture in your home.

If you want to prevent it returning, you have to take steps to limit the moisture in the air.

You may be able to remove the mould yourself, but for larger or more tough areas you may have to use bleach, or get a professional to help you.
